Micro Academy:
U4-U6 Boys & Girls (Born between Jan. 1, 2019-March 31, 2021. Players must turn 4 prior to the start of the season. )
Course Description: The Grassroots/Micro-Academy is for boys and girls of all skill levels. The focus for players in this age group is on playing small-sided games in a fun, social environment learning basic movement skills, directional play, elementary attacking and defensive principles of play, basic dribbling and passing skills and first touch/ball control skills. Coaches run small-sided games, 3 v 3, 4 v 4, or 5 v 5 in forty-five minute sessions in our Free Play sessions on Fridays, and our REC Jamboree sessions on Saturdays.

Not included: Uniform Kit ($65)**; VYSA fees $10 (if not paid in the Fall 24 season), Fairfax County Field User Fees: in-county ($10.00/player); out-of-county ($50.00/player); soccer ball- $30 (players take home after the season), extra FC Dulles practice shirts ($18/ea), and player's equipment including soccer cleats (highly recommend), shin guards (required), and water bottle.
REC Academy
U7-U9 Boys & Girls (born 2016-2018):
Course Description: The Grassroots REC Academy is for boys and girls of all skill levels. Players are introduced to the FC Dulles REC Curriculum with an emphasis dribbling, passing and receiving, and shooting/finishing skills. Basic tactical phases of attacking and defending are introduced through small-sided games in our Play-Practice-Play format. Players will meet 3x/week over seven weeks for a training session on Monday nights, a free play session on Friday nights, and an in-house competition (REC Jamboree) on Saturdays in our REC Jamboree. It is during these sessions that we begin to ID players to play on future FC Dulles competitive travel teams.

**Uniform kits to be distributed at the first practice sessions. Please note: Players who purchased the royal blue FC Dulles Grassroots/REC uniform kit in a prior season are not required to purchase a new uniform kit unless needed.

January 6- Spring 25 Grassroots Micro Academy (U4-U6) & REC Academy program (U7-U9) registration opens.
March 15- Grassroots/REC program early bird registration ends.
March 16- Late Registration begins ($50 late fee)
Third week of March- Email with confirmation and specifics regarding session times and locations.
Monday, March 31- First day of practices for REC Academy (U7-U9)
Friday, April 4- First day of Free Play for the Micro Academy and REC Academy.
Saturday, April 5- first REC Jamboree for the Micro and REC Academies.
Sunday, April 13, thru Sunday, April 20- No events scheduled- FCPS spring break.
Friday, May 16- Last day of Free-play for Micro Academy and REC Academy.
Monday, May 19- Last practice day for REC Academy program.
Friday, May 23-Monday, May 26- No events scheduled: Memorial Day weekend.
Friday, May 30- Make-up session for Friday Free Play.
Saturday, May 31- Last REC Jamboree day for Micro Academy and REC Academy.
Monday, June 2- Make-up session for Monday REC Academy practice.
Saturday, June 7- Make up session for REC Jamboree day for Micro Academy and REC Academy.
Uniforms are required for the Grassroots Micro Academy and REC Academy. Please note: if you purchased the uniform below in a prior season, you do not need to purchase again unless needed.

Our curriculum is based on national guidelines and designed to instill a lifetime of love & passion for the beautiful game of soccer.
Coaches:
FC Dulles believes volunteer USSF licensed coaches are an integral part of our rec. soccer program. FC Dulles provides educational opportunities through VYSA's Coaching Education Department and guidance for volunteer coaches to actively participate in our rec. program. Recreation Coaches receive a coaching polo for games and a practice t-shirt for training sessions. Upon successful completion of the season tuition fees for parents of players enrolled in our REC program will be refunded.
